Women Champions at the French Open Tennis Tournament

Officially known as the Tournoi de Roland Garros or the Roland Garros tournament, the French Open is the second Grand Slam Event that is held in a year. It is held during the period of mid May and early June in Paris which is situated in France.

This tournament is named after a hero of World War I named Roland Garros who was a pilot. In its earlier stages this tournament was only a national tournament. But from 1925 it became open to international competitors. This is the only Grand Slam Event that features clay courts.

Apart from her there were others also like Chris Evert, Monica Seles, Arantxa Sanchez Vicario and Justin Henin who had also won the titles for three times.

In the Women Doubles category Gigi Fernandez and Natalia Zvereva topped the charts by winning the title for five times. They gave an outstanding performance. Apart from this duo Martina Navratilova and Pam Shriver also won the title for four times and leave their impression behind. Regarding the Mixed Doubles category Arantxa Sanchez Vicario won the title two times. Once she paired with Jorge Lozano and for the second time she paired with Mark Woodforde. Another player who won the title for two times was Katarina Srebotnik.
