Host Stadium of French Open
The Host Stadium of the French Open Tennis Tournament is the Stade de Roland Garros which is located in the southwest of Paris which is situated in France. The stadium is named after Roland Garros who was a fighter pilot during World War I. This stadium was built in the year 1928. The main purpose of building this stadium was to host the rematch between France and USA in the
Davis Cup which France had won in the United States of America. After the renovation work that had been undertaken on 1999 the seating capacity of the stadium was reduced to 15059. It was done so as to make more space for the ever increasing media crews. It contains the main court named as the Philippe Chatrier Court in which most of the events are held.
