The 2004 French Open Tennis Tournament

Introduction

French open is the second Grand Slam event that is held in a year after the Australian Open. This tournament in its earlier stages was a national tournament but after 1925 it became open to international competitors. This tournament is held during the period mid May and early June in Paris which is situated in France. It is also officially known as Tournoi de Roland Garros or the Roland Garros tournament. This tournament is named after a hero of World War I who was a pilot. It is the only Grand Slam Event that is conducted in clay courts. Due to this the players find it quite challenging in winning in these courts as these courts affect the game strategy.

These Courts tend to slow the ball and also add extra bounce to the ball. The 2004 French Open Tennis Tournament was one such event held in the clay court.
