Uzbekistan at the 2003 Fed Cup

Uzbekistan started its debut at the Fed Cup in the year 1995. Uzbekistan at the 2003 Fed Cup was placed in the Group I of the Asia/Oceania zone. The players were Karina Jarlkaganova, Elvira Yussupova, and Marina Spakova.

In the first Round Robin match against Thailand, Uzbekistan lost the contest by a close margin of 1-2.

Next, Uzbekistan was again the looser against Chinese Taipei by score of 1-2 in the second Round Robin match.

The third qualifier again resulted in the Uzbekistan winning over Malaysia by score of 3-0.

The fourth set of Round Robin matches was on 24th April between Uzbekistan and Indonesia. In this set, Indonesia defeated Uzbekistan by a score of 3-0.

On 25th, April Uzbekistan played the fifth set of Round Robin matches against Kazakhstan. In the first match, I.Israilova of Uzbekistan defeated M.Spakova of Kazakhstan by 6-3, 6-7(5) and 6-3.

In the second match, A.Amanmuradova of Uzbekistan defeated K.Jarlkaganova of Kazakhstan by 6-2 and 6-0. The doubles match was not played. Thus, Uzbekistan defeated Kazakhstan by 2-0 in this set.
