Turkey at the 2003 Fed Cup

Turkey began to compete for the Fed Cup in the year 1991 and has played consistently till the year 2003. In the year 2003, it was placed in the Europe/Africa Zone Group II. The players of Turkey at the 2003 Fed Cup were Pemra Ozen, Ipek Senoglu, Ciqdem Duru and Ismet-Duygu Aksit-Oal.

Turkey at the 2003 Fed Cup played its first Round Robin match against Norway in the Group II ‘A’ of Europe/Africa Zone. In this set of matches, Turkey defeated Norway by a score of 2-1.

On 1st May 2003 Turkey played matches of Round Robin against Portugal. In the first match, A.Nogueira of Portugal defeated P.Ozen by 7-5 and 6-4.

In the second match, F.Piedade of Portugal defeated I.Senoglu in sets of 3-6, 7-5 and 6-3. In the doubles match, F.Piedade and N.Silva of Portugal defeated P.Ozen and I.Senoglu of Turkey by 6-3, 2-6 and 6-2. Thus, Portugal defeated Turkey by 3-0 in this set.
