Jamaica at the 2003 Fed Cup

Jamaica made its debut performance in the year 1976 Fed Cup. Jamaica at the 2003 Fed Cup was one among the 79 nations that participated in the event. Jamaica played all their matches on the grounds of Puerto Rico and the team was under the captainship of Llockett McGregor.

Jamaica at the 2003 Fed Cup made its entry through American Zone group II B. Jamaica started well by defeating Bermuda with a score of 3-0 in the first set of Round Robin matches.

Jamaica thrashed Bolivia in the second set of Round Robin matches that was scheduled on 24th, April by a score of 3-0.

Jamaica played the third set of Round Robin matches against Trinidad & Tobago on 26th April. In these matches; it defeated Trinidad & Tobago by a score of 3-0 each.

The fourth and last set of Round Robin matches that Jamaica played were against Chile on 27th April. In the first match, V.Castro of Chile defeated M.Moulton-Levy by 6-3 and 6-4. In the second match, A.Koch-Benvenuto of Chile defeated A.Broderick of Jamaica in sets of 6-2 and 6-0.

In the doubles match, M.Moulton-Levy and A.Broderick of Jamaica defeated V.Castro and M.Rodriguez of Chile in straight sets of 6-1 and 6-4. Thus, Chile defeated Jamaica by a score of 2-1 in this set.
