Introduction

Venezuela made its maiden entry in Fed Cup in the year 1984 for the first time. It has played a total of 18 years’ game competing in 72 ties to date. The player who made the most total wins is Maria Vento Kabchi (35-20). She made the most total wins too. She has played the most number of ties and has played for the most number of years. Prior to 2002 it qualified for the main draw in 1984. Venezuela at the 2002 Federation Cup played in the America Group 1 pool B round robin. It played a total of four ties. The first tie was against Colombia. In this round robin Venezuela lost 0-3. The same was the story when it played against Brazil in the second tie. Brazil defeated Venezuela with the score line 3-0. The third tie was against Uruguay. Venezuela managed to make just winning game from this losing tie. In the next tie against Paraguay too gave the same yield to Venezuela. All these ties were held on hard outdoors court in Mexico from 22 to 26 April 2002.
