Introduction

Turkey made its debut in the Fed Cup in 1991, played a total of 17 years’ game so far competing in 63 ties to date. Ismet-Duygu Aksit –Oal has made the most number of total wins (32-29). She has the record of making the Most Singles Wins and Most Double Wins and has been part of the best doubles team. She has played the most number of ties and has played for the most number of years. The best performance of Turkey to date is reaching the final qualifying round of the 1993 Fed Cup. Turkey at the 2002 Federation Cup played from the Europe/Africa Group 1 pool D round robin.

Turkey at the 2002 Federation Cup entered from the Europe/Africa Group 1 pool D round robin and played a total 3 ties. In the first round, robin Luxembourg came to clash with Turkey. Turkey crumbled at the hands of Luxembourg with the score 1-2. The second tie was a pathetic experience for Turkey. Yugoslavia, one of the Fed Cup veterans send Turkey spinning down with a 0 score. Poland was the last one to give the taste of defeat to Turkey at the 2002 Fed Cup. Turkey lost the tie 1-2. All these ties were conducted on home grounds from 24 to 26 April 2002.
