Introduction

Thailand made its first appearance in Fed Cup in 1976, playing for 25 years it has competed in 85 ties in all, through 2006. Tamarine Tanasugarn has played most number of years and most number of ties and has made most total wins and most number of singles wins. Benjamas Sangaram made the most number of doubles wins and she is part of the best doubles team. It played in the World Group 2 in 2005 and 2006 which was its best performance so far. It lost its opening tie on both occasions. Thailand at the 2002 Federation Cup played in the Asia/Oceania Group 1 pool B.

The last tie was against Uzbekistan. This too was a winning game. The score was 2-1.
