Sports Of World Provides Federation Cup Tennis Information                         Sports Of World Provides Federation Tennis Information
Introduction

Paraguay entered the prestigious championship for women in the year 1991. Since its debut, it has played for 17 years competing in a total 71 ties so far. Larissa Schaerer has made the Most Total Wins (64-32). She has made the most singles win, most doubles win and she is part of the best doubles team. She holds the record of playing the maximum number of ties and the player who played the most number of years in the Fed Cup for Paraguay. Paraguay won the Americas Zone Group 1 and qualified to play in the World Group Play offs in 1995 and lost to Slovak Republic. This was its best performance. Paraguay at the 2002 Federation Cup played in the America Zone Group 1 pool B and won all the rounds to reach the World Group.

Performance of Paraguay at the 2002 Federation Cup

Paraguay at the 2002 Federation Cup played a total four ties in the America Zone Group 1 pool B and won two of them. Uruguay had to compete with Paraguay in the first round robin of America Zone Group 1 pool B. This gave it an utter loss with the score line 0-3. Colombia came next to fight with Paraguay in the second tie which too gave the same score of 0-3. In the third tie round robin Paraguay managed to defeat Brazil with the score line 2-1. The last tie in the America Zone Group 1 pool B round robin for Paraguay put Venezuela at loggerheads. This tie too gave Paraguay a reasonable victory of 2-1.

Here’s a summary of the performance of Paraguay at the 2002 Federation Cup

The performance of Paraguay at the 2002 Federation Cup was an average one. Out of the four ties it won only two. The tow losing games did not yield a single winning match. Among the two winning ties none of them was a total win. The overall performance of Paraguay at the 2002 Fed Cup was just enough for it to play in the 2003 Fed Cup from the same position America Zone Group 1
