In their first tie in the Round Robin pool the Netherlands team took on the team of Bosnia/Herzegovina whom the team sent packing by a score of 3-0 and then played against the team of Romania. The competition was a bit tough for the team but eventually the Netherlands team defeated their rivals by a score of 2-1. In the third tie the team played against the Israeli team and it was also a very hotly contested tie in which the Netherlands team could not score more than 1 match and lost the round by a score of 1-2. The Netherlands team then played in the group play-offs ties and their first tie was against the Luxembourg team which was sent packing by the team in a score of 2-1. The Netherlands team then played in the world group play-off round against the Mighty Australians. In their final tie against Australia the Netherlands team played a very competitive game but could not win the last crucial match and lost the round by 2-3.
