Introduction

Yugoslavia began its Davis Cup performance in 1969. It has completed 28 years of participation competing in 87 ties in all. Sabrina Goles and Dragana Zaric made the most number of total wins and the latter won the most number of singles matches where as the former won the most number of doubles matches. Both are part of the best doubles teams that also include Renata Sasak and Katarina Daskovic. Mima Jausovec played in the Fed Cup the most number of years and Dragana Zaric played the most number of ties. Yugoslavia at the 2001 Federation Cup played from the Europe/Africa Group 1 pool A.

Yugoslavia at the 2001 Federation Cup played a total of three ties in the Europe/Africa Group 1 pool A. In the first round robin ties of Europe/Africa Group 1 pool A for Yugoslavia was against Poland. In this tie it won 3-0. The same score line repeated when it played its second tie against Macedonia, F.Y.R. The third round robin tie for Yugoslavia in 2001 in Europe/Africa Group 1 pool A was against Netherlands. In this the whole story got a twist. Netherlands defeated Yugoslavia. It was a total loss for Yugoslavia. All these ties were held in Spain on clay outdoors courts. The ties began on 24 and ended on 26 April.
