Trinidad and Tobago at the 2001 Federation Cup

The Federation cup are the tournaments held for the women’s tennis players. Trinidad and Tobago entered into these tournaments for the first time in the year 1990.The best performance of Trinidad and Tobago was in the year 1993 as it reached the final regional qualifying round. Trinidad and Tobago at the 2001 Federation cup participated in these tournaments and they reached the final round in which they defeated Panama. These tournaments were played at the hard court of St Jones, Ant.and the players of Trinidad and Tobago were Natasha Kelly, Leeza Rooks, Lisa Fung Kee Fung and Tenille Elias. The team captain of the team was Miss Beverly Corbie.

Trinidad and Tobago at the 2001 Federation Cup played the round robins against Bahamas, and Chile. The first round robin was played against Bahamas and it defeated Trinidad and Tobago with a score of 0-3. Trinidad and Tobago was defeated by Chile in the second round robin. The first round which was played from the American Group II 9th /12th Play off and which was played against Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago was defeated by the Jamaica players with a score of 0-2.The final round were played against Panama, and Trinidad and Tobago defeated the Panama players with a score of 2-0.

Trinidad and Tobago at the 2001 Federation cup played satisfactorily in the round robins and the First round matches. But in the final round played against Panama, Trinidad and Tobago defeated Panama with a score of 2-0.
