Spain at the 2001 Federation Cup entered from the World Group pool B round robin and played three ties. In the first tie Spain defeated Australia and made a total win 3-0. The second tie of World Group pool B round robin for Spain was against Germany. Germany too gave in at the strong hands of Spain. Spain won two matches losing one to Germany. The third tie for Spain in World Group pool B round robin brought Belgium face to face. Belgium had an upper hand in this tie as it swept all the three ties in its favor. Spain lost all the matches of this tie. All these ties were hosted by Spain from 07 to 09 November.

The performance of Spain at the 2001 Federation Cup was good. It won two ties including a total win from the World Group pool B round robin and lost one. This performance was sufficient for Spain to compete from the World Group in the Fed Cup of 2002.
