The performance of Philippines at the 2001 Federation Cup began from the 9th April and continued till the 13th April and all the ties of the team were organized on the outdoor hard surface in Taipei. In their first Round Robin tie the team played against Malaysia and after some struggle won the round by a score of 2-1 and then went on to play against the team of Sri Lanka whom the Philippines team completely thrashed in 3 matches and won the tie in style by a score of 3-0. The third tie of the Philippines team was contested against the team of Syria and the team was on the highest level of their performance, the Syrian team could do nothing but losing their tie by a score of 3-0 against the Philippines team. Thus the Philippines team won their three Round Robin ties in a very one sided manner. In the fourth tie of the first round of their group the Philippines team was challenged by the Singapore team and the Philippines team made it look all to simple to defeat their rivals in a score of 3-0 again for the third time in a row. The team then took on Hong Kong China in the final round of their group and had them surrender by a score of 3-0 again for the 4th time in a row.
