Performance of Panama at the 2001 Federation Cup
The performance of Panama at the 2001 Federation Cup was from 15th May to 19th May in Antigua on the outdoor hard surface. The team played their three Round Robin ties, and their first tie was against the team of Antigua & Barbuda in which the team won the round by a score of 2-1 and then took on the team of Bermuda. In the tie against the Bermuda team the Panama team had a very hard round the team could not win the round and lost it by 0-3, the third round was played against the team of Costa Rica and even in this tie the Panama team could not display any impressive performance. The third round was lost by the team in a score of o-3 and it was the team’s second defeat in a row. The Panama team then took on the challenge of the El Salvador team in the first round of their group matches and lost it as well by a score of 0-2. The Panama team was losing ties after ties in the competition. In the final round the Panama team played their matches against the team of Trinidad & Tobago and could not again have a single victory and lost the tie by a score of 0-2. Thus the Panama team’s performance came to a miserable end.
