The performance of Pacific Oceania at the 2001 Federation Cup began on the 9th April and ended on 13th April and all the ties of the team were contested in Taipei on the outdoor hard surface. In their first challenge the team faced the Indonesian team and lost very cheaply by a score of 0-3. The next tie of the Pacific Oceania team was against the team of India and the Indian team did not leave their rivals easily the Pacific Oceania team lost their second tie again by the same score of 0-3 and was really demoralized. In their third tie the team played against Korea Republic which seemed a much bigger challenge for the team, the Pacific Oceania team lost their third round as well by a score of 0-3 again. In the final 4th round the Pacific Oceania team was not hoping for a miracle to happen against the team of New Zealand. The team lost their last round also by a score of 0-3 and ended their terrible performance in the competition. The Pacific Oceania team was relegated in their original group for the next year’s competition.
