The performance of New Zealand at the 2001 Federation Cup began on the 9th April and continued till the 13th April and all the Round Robin ties of the team were played in Taipei on the outdoor hard court. In the first tie the New Zealand team played against the team of Korea Republic and it was quite a tough round for the team, the team could win only one match and lost the round by 1-2. In their second tie the New Zealand team took on the challenge of the Indonesian team and the team lost the tie in a very one-sided manner, the Indonesian team did not let the New Zealand team win any match and the final score of the round was 0-3 for the New Zealand team. In their third round the New Zealand team played against the team of India and both the teams had a great struggle for the victory of the tie but the New Zealand performance was unmatched and the team won the round by a score of 2-1. In their fourth and last tie the New Zealand team easily defeated the team of Pacific Oceania by a score of 3-0. And the team thus ended their Round Robin ties.
