Introduction

Trinidad and 2000 entered the Fed Cup in the year 1990 and has completed playing for 15 years competing in 62 ties. Anneliese Rose made the most number of total wins, most singles wins and most doubles wins. She has played for most number of years competing in most ties. She is also part of the best doubles team along with others like Elizabeth Gibson and Jeanine Baillie. Its best performance to dare came when it reached the final regional qualifying round in 1993, losing 3-0 to Chile. Trinidad & 2000 at the 2000 Federation Cup played in the America Group 2 A.

 
Performance of Trinidad And Tobago at the 2000 Federation Cup

Trinidad at the 2000 Federation Cup played from the Americas Zone Group 2 pool A competing in a total of four ties. On 09 May it played its first tie of the 2000 Fed Cup against Barbados. It defeated Barbados winning two games to one. The second tie was against Dominican Republic in which Trinidad & Togo lost 1-2. The third tie was on 12 May on El Salvador’s home ground. Trinidad had to clash against El Salvador on clay outdoor court. This tie too was not fortunate for Trinidad. The last tie for Trinidad in 2000 Fed cup was against Guatemala. The outcome of this was a total win of 3-0. All these ties were hosted by El Salvador on clay outdoor court. Trinidad completed all its round robin ties of Americas Zone Group 2 pool A on 13 May 2000. The last two ties were 5th to 8th play off round robin.

As a result of its overall performance it would play from the same Americas Zone Group 2 in the following year’s Fed Cup too.
