Macedonia F.Y.R. made its debut in the Federation Cup in the year 1995. This proves that Macedonia is one of the latest entrants in the tournament and hence lacks the experience and firepower to take on the other experienced contenders in the zone. Macedonia participated in the Federation Cup from the Europe/Africa zone and has largely been an under performer in the tournament. Macedonia’s maximum achievement is that it has been a part of the Group 1 A of the Europe/Africa zone. Apart from this, Macedonia has never displayed any exceptional performance that has attracted the attention of the fans and the experts. Macedonia defeated Kenya by a score line of 3-0 to win its third consecutive round encounter. Its fourth win in the zonal round came against Ireland where Macedonia defeated Ireland by a scoreline of 2-1.

Macedonia’s performance in the 2000 Federation Cup earned decent reviews from the fans and the experts. Winning all the four round robin games was a significant achievement for Macedonia. However, Macedonia was still not prepared to take on the challenge of the stronger contenders. It was still a long way behind the other stronger contenders and was not capable of competing in the World Group.
