Luxembourg at the 2000 Federation Cup

Luxembourg made its first debut in the Fed Cup in the year 1972.Luxembourg faced defeat in the first round played against Columbia and Brazil played during its first year. In the year 1973 and 1979 Luxembourg advanced to the World Group. From the year 1972 to 1991 Luxembourg played from the World Group. It was from the year 1992 it played from the Europe/Africa Group I A. The performance of Luxembourg in the year 1994 was discouraging as they were defeated by the Great Britain and Russian teams in the round robins. Luxembourg at the 2000 Fed Cup were placed in the Europe/Africa Zone Group I D.Luxembourg played the round robin at the clay court of Spain.

Luxembourg at the 2000 Fed Cup played the opening round robin against Poland and defeated the Poland team with a score of 2-1.The round robin played against Solvenia, Luxembourg was defeated by the Slovenia with a score of 1-2 in the second round robin.

Gregoria was defeated by the Luxembourg with a score of 2-1 in the third round robin.Great Britain defeated Luxembourg with a score of 0-3 in the first round played from the Europe/Africa Play off round.

Luxembourg at the 2000 Fed Cup displayed a mixed performance of both good and satisfactory. They won against Poland and Georgia in the round robins and were defeated by the Slovenia team marginally. Luxembourg’s defeat in the hands of Great Britain was shocking as they could not win a single match out of the total three played.
