Liechtenstein at the 2000 Fed Cup took part in the Fed Cup for the first time in 1996. The country has never contested above the Group II. In the 1999 edition, Liechtenstein did not participate in the Fed Cup.

Liechtenstein at the 2000 Fed Cup took part in Group II of the Europe / Africa Zone. The other countries in this zone were Algeria, Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Botswana, Cyprus, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, Georgia, Iceland, Ireland, Kenya, Lesotho, Lithuania, Macedonia, Malta, Mauritius, Moldova, Portugal, Tunisia and Yugoslavia. Liechtenstein played five Round Robin matches.
