Sports Of World Provides Federation Cup Tennis Information                         Sports Of World Provides Federation Tennis Information
Introduction

Latvia at the 2000 Fed Cup was a team that fought for the cup in the Europe/African Zone. They started their Fed Cup story in the year 1992 and since then managed to reach the final draw of the final sixteen in the year 1993. Prior to 1993, the Latvian team mates represented the Soviet Union. The Latvian Tennis Union acts as the statutory body for the Fed Cup tennis tournament in Latvia.

Performance of Latvia at the 2000 Federation Cup

Latvia at the 2000 Fed Cup could not mark any victory.

The first Round Robin in the Group I of the Europe/Africa Zone was played between Hungary and Latvia. Latvia lost with a menial score of 0-3 and went on to face South Africa in the second game of Round Robin.

Once again, The Latvian team was badly vanquished with another wash-out score of 0-3. The final Round Robin game was played against the team of Greece. The consecutive loss story continued as once again Latvia lost with a disgraceful score of 0-3.

Here’s a summary of the performance of Latvia at the 2000 Federation Cup

Latvia at the 2000 Fed Cup could not create a foothold and lost all the three Round Robin games it played in its zone. Latvia lost even its Group I stature for the fore coming year. Latvia was unable to conquer even a single of the nine matches it played. This was sheer ignorance towards the game and it showed as if they had just turned up in the tournament for the sake of it. The performance in general was totally marginal and Latvia required a lot more patience and perseverance if they aspired to retain or promote their position in the Fed Cup teams.
