| Introduction
Currently handled and managed by Tennis Jamaica, Jamaica played first time in the 1976 Fed Cup. In the first round of the World Group Qualifying Round on the carpet-indoor surface held in its home town, Mexico was its very first challenger. It could not accept the challenge and was defeated by Mexico with a score line of 0-3. With its best performance, it got a chance to play in the World Group Main Draw in which other 32 countries from all over the world took part in the 1987 Fed Cup. From World Group Qualifying Round, Jamaica moved down to the Group I D of the America Zone in the year 1992. Jamaica at the 2000 Fed Cup took part in its 25th Fed Cup with full interest and strong will.
