America defeated the Ireland in the year 1964.Ireland was placed in the World Group initially till the year 1991.From 1992 it was placed in the Europe/Africa Zone. The performance of Ireland in the year 1991 was excellent in all the round played as it managed to reach the final but faced a defeat in the Final by the Norway players. In the year 1994 Ireland played the round robins against Zimbabwe and Slovenia and faced a defeat at the clay court of Austria under the Europe/Africa Zone GroupI H. Ireland at the 2000 Fed Cup played the round robins at the clay court of Portugal. They were placed in the Europe/Africa/Group II A. The round robins were played against Malta, Kenya, Mauritius and Macedonia. The opening round robin match was played against Malta, Ireland defeated Malta with a score of 2-1. The second round robin was played against Kenya, and Ireland defeated the Kenya team with a score of 3-0.In the third round robin, Mauritius was defeated by the Ireland team with a score of 3-0.Finally in the last round robin, Ireland was defeated by the Macedonia with a score of 1-2.
