Iraq at the 2000 Federation Cup

Iraq began with its Fed Cup journey in the year just two year prior to 2000 in the year 1998. Iraq at the 2000 Fed Cup played in the Asia/Oceania Zone in the tournament as always a Group II team. 2000 was the last year in which Iraq took part in the Fed Cup. The Iraqi Tennis Federation legally takes care of all the Fed Cup matters for this nation. Iraq has been an insignificant nation in the history of the Fed Cup.

It had to vie in the Round Robins to earn a name for itself in the fed Cup.

The first Round Robin was played between Malaysia and Iraq. Iraq lost badly and the match ended in a sad score of 0-2. The losing spree continued even while fighting it out with Pacific Oceania in the second Round Robin. The score was once again 0-3 and Iraq was vanquished badly.

The next Round Robin was contested against Fiji and it was once again that Iraq was defeated with a score of 0-3. In the last Round Robin, Iraq met Uzbekistan and once again was overpowered by the opponent with a score-line of 0-3.

The performance of Iraq at the 2000 Fed Cup was marginal and they could not manage to cerate any sort of foothold in the tournament. Iraq kept up to its spirit and lost all the games with wash-out scores. Iraq since 1998 had not won a single game and the fortune still prevailed. Iraq was low on practice and perfection and hence was bound to lose in the 2000 Fed Cup.
