The German team’s most successful performance was in the year 1987 when the team had won the competition and the German team repeated this achievement again in the 1995 competition. The German team had been in the finals of the competition for four times but had lost them.

Thus the German team won two ties out of the three but that was not enough for the team to advance further in the competition, the team remained in their pool for the next year’s competition.
