Finland at the 2000 Federation Cup

Finland made its first debut in these Federations cup in the year 1968.Finland’s performance in the year 1993 was superb since it advanced to the Quarterfinals and was placed in the World Group but was defeated by the Australia in the quarterfinal. During the year 1992, Finland was advanced to the Quarterfinals after winning against China, P.R in the first round and was placed in the World Group play off round. For the first time in the year 1968 when Finland played against Netherlands at the clay court of France, from the World group, Netherlands defeated Finland with a score line of 0-3. Till the year 1994 Finland participated from the World Group.

It was from the year 1995 it started participating from the Europe/Africa Zone Finland at the 2000 Federation Cup played the round robins at the clay court of La Manga Club, Murcia in Spain.

The first round robin was played against Israel, Finland was defeated by the Israel with a snore of 0-3. Finland was defeated by the Great Britain with a marginal score of 1-2 in the second round robin. Luxembourg defeated Finland with a score of 0-3 in the third round robin. Finally, in the last round robin, Ukraine defeated Finland with a score of 0-3 in the fourth round robin.

Finland at the 2000 Federation cup displayed a very hopeless performance by being defeated in all the round robins played against Israel, Great Britain, Luxembourg, and Ukraine.
