Thailand at the 1994 Federation Cup

The participation of Thailand in the fed cup began since the year 1976. Ever since Thailand began participating in the Fed Cup its not won a single final or even managed to reach one. Their performance has been comparatively not worth praising or discussing highly about. They managed to reach the semifinals once in the year 1991 where they lost to Norway. In the year 1991 Thailand showed their best performance ever in their Davis Cup history. Tamarine TANASUGARN played for Thailand from the year 1993, playing 7 matches and winning a total of 4, thus becoming the Thailand's best player. Thailand has always participated in the Asia/Oceana Group.

Thailand at the 1994 Fed Cup that was played in India, won their first match of the year by beating New Zealand with a score of 2-1. All matches were played on the clay outdoor court. After winning the first round robin match Thailand faced neighboring rivals Singapore. The match incredibly ended with a score line that showed Thailand winning over Singapore with a score of 3-0. The next round robin match was scheduled against Sri Lanka. Thailand won this match also with a score line of 3-0, thus showing excellent performance. The first round match was the next that was to be played against Chinese Taipei. They lost their first match of the year losing with a score of 3-0.

Thailand at the 1994 Fed Cup showed some real good performance by winning three out of the four they played. They won against teams like New Zealand, Singapore and Sri Lanka. They lost their match of the year against Chinese Taipei.
