Introduction

Hazel Wightman, the genuine tennis wins the hearts all over for her maiden plan in the all-women tennis. Which after a considerable time of some decades saw its realization in the form of Federation Cup. She never lost her drive and passion to shape up its design as a trophy for the ten strong teams United States and Great Britain. However, her cause was taken up with spirited initiative by other great women in Nell Hopman and Mary Hardwick Hare made Hazel's plan enter into realism. It was inaugurated by the International Tennis Federation to mark its fifty years of origination in 1963.

 

Initially there was a small congregation of 16 teams which significantly rose up to take in its folds as many as 73 national teams by the year 1976. The initial trophy launched by ITF carried the name Federation Cup, which was renamed as the Federation Cup in 1995. Israel at the 1994 Federation Cup was a Euro/African Zone Group player; it was scheduled for three Round Robins from the zone. Excepting a single convincing win over Egypt in their commencing match, Israel failed to record any further win. In two other games opposite Belarus and Great Britain, Israel lost it to them to the ground by 0-3. Israeli tournament came in to end having the first ever win in it.
