Australia at the 1981 Federation Cup

Australia made its first appearance in the Federation Cup in the year 1963.Australia is one among the four nations which have had the opportunity to participate in the Federation Cup competitions. Australia is in the second position in the Federation cup. It has won 7 times the Federation Cup title. Australia is supposed to be the second most winning team. The performance of Australia in the in the year 1963 when it made it first entry was excellent since it won all the rounds except in the finals, Australia was defeated by the U.S.A team with a marginal score line of 1-2.

In the year 1964 once again their performance was good since they now their performance was more better as won the Final round played against the U.S.A.In the year 1965 once again Australia defeated U.S.A in the finals. In the year 1968 Nether lands was defeated by the Australian team in the finals. Australia at the 1981 Federation Cup was one of the participants.

Australia at the 1981 Federation Cup played under the World Group displayed an excellent performance in the first round played against Philippines in the clay court of Japan. In the Semifinal round, Great Britain played against Australia. Australia was defeated by the Great Britain team with a marginal score of 1-2.In the Quarterfinals Australia defeated Netherlands with a score line of 3-0.In the second round China, P.R was defeated by the Australia team players with a score line of 3-0.Finally it was successful in the last round too in defeating the Philippines team with a score line of 3-0.

Australia at the 1981 Federation Cup put up a dazzling performance in the Quarterfinal, Second round, First round by defeating the teams from Netherlands, China, P.R and Philippines.
