Group III and IV played round-robin tournaments with promotion and relegation. The first round matches were played from 10th to 12th February. The finals took place from 1st to 3rd December at Moscow, Russia. Indonesia at the 2006 Davis Cup competed in Asia/Oceania Zone. It was included in the group II. Indonesian team included following players:

Indonesia was placed in Group Ii along with Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Malaysia, New Zealand and Pacific Oceania. Indonesia sent their players with great hopes. The players showed dominant performance.

The 1st round matches were played from 10th to 12th February. Indonesia at the 2006 Davis Cup directly played in the first round. Indonesia played the first set of matches against Malaysia at Balikpapan, Indonesia. Indonesian players showed wonderful performance. They won all five matches. They advanced to the 2nd round. The matches in the second round were played from 7th to 9th April. Indonesia played the matches against Hon Kong at Surabaya, Indonesia on hard court. Indonesian players again played with winning spirit. They won all the five matches against Hong Kong. Indonesia forwarded to the 3rd round. The 3rd round matches were played from 22nd to 24th September. The matches between Indonesia and Kazakhstan were played at Almaty, Kazakhstan on Indoor court. Indonesia’s players failed to maintain their performance. They lost 3 matches against Kazakhstan. They could win 2 matches.
