France won 3 matches while Germany won 2 matches. France forwarded to the quarterfinals. The quarterfinal matches were played from 7th to 9th April. France played the matches against Russia at Pau, France. Russian Marat Safin defeated Richard Gasquet from France by 7-6, 4-6, 6-3, 6-7 and 6-1. Nikolay Davydenko from Russia defeated Arnaud Clement from France by 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 and 7-6.
