The group IV of the Americas zone consisted of only five teams. The nations that were categorized in this group were Barbados, Bermuda, Panama, Saint Lucia and US Virgin Islands. Irrespective of being placed in the group IV, all the players showed ample determination to excel and move ahead of the other contenders.

Participation and Performance of Bermuda in the 2006 Davis Cup

Bermuda at the 2006 Davis Cup directly played in the round robin event of the tournament. The first set of matches that Bermuda played was on the 14th of June against St. Lucia. Maya Country Club, Neuva San Salvador, El Salvador was the venue for the matches. This set yielded terrible results for Bermuda since it did not win even a single match and lost all the three matches. The next two sets of matches were held on the 15th and 16th of June. On the 15th, Bermuda played against Barbados while on the 16th, Panama was the opponent. Both the sets yielded the same results. The competitors from Bermuda put up a poor show of their talents and failed to win even a single match.

On the 18th of June, Bermuda played against US Virgin Islands and as anticipated lost all the games. Out of the total 12 matches that Bermuda played, not even one match was won. The players were subjected to immense disappointment and
embarrassment for their poor show.
On the whole, performance of Bermuda at the 2006 Davis Cup was hugely disappointing. At the end of the tournament, final rankings were decided and Bermuda stood at the last spot in its group.
