Introduction

Davis Cup is a tennis tournament that is held only for Mens. This tournament unlike other Grand Slam events follows a complete different format, which is unique to it. The 2003 Davis Cup being the 92nd edition of this tournament hosted a total of 135 nations from different corners of the world and New Zealand at the 2003 Davis Cup was one of the contenders. This team made its first appearance in the Davis Cup in the year 1924. But it competed with Australia under the name Australasia before 1914. New Zealand has given many good performances, as it had played number of times in the World Group. The tennis New Zealand manages the New Zealand Davis Cup team.

In the first round this year it faced Pakistan and defeated it easily. It won all the matches and dominated the round completely. Therefore the score line by which it defeated Pakistan was 5-0. Qualifying to the semifinal round it competed against India. However it unfortunately lost to India by a score line of 1-4.
