In the first round of the World Group it competed against Germany and defeated it by completely dominating the round. It defeated Germany by a score line of 5-0. It then qualified to the quarterfinals and competed against Russia. It defeated Russia also very easily. It completely dominated this round as well. The score line was 5-0. Thus it qualified to the semifinal round. In this round it encountered Spain and unfortunately lost to it. The margin was very close and was 2-3.
