Introduction

Davis Cup is a tennis tournament that is held only for Mens. This tournament unlike other Grand Slam events follows a complete different format, which is unique to it. The 2003 Davis Cup being the 92nd edition of this tournament hosted a total of 135 nations from different corners of the world. Amongst these 135 nations Algeria at the 2003 Davis Cup was one of the participants. This team made its first appearance in the Davis Cup in the year 1976. The Federation Algerienne de Tennis administers the Davis Cup team of Algeria. In the third round robin it defeated Lithuania by a score line of 2-1. In the fourth round robin it again defeated Estonia by a score line of 2-1. In the fifth round robin the match against Lithuania was cancelled as it had been played earlier. In the sixth round robin it defeated Hungary by a score line of 2-0.
