Group I and Group II played knockout tournaments. Group III and IV played round-robin tournaments with promotion and relegation. The final was played from 8th to 10th December at Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona, Spain. Morocco at the 2000 Davis Cup was placed in Group I of Euro/African Zone. Morocco sent following players:

Countries at the 2000 Davis Cup
Many countries from Euro/African Zone sent their players with great hopes. The participants played with determinations to win the matches. The countries to participate in group I were Belarus, Finland, Hungary, Morocco, Portugal, Romania, South Africa, Sweden and Ukraine.

Morocco at the 2000 Davis Cup directly played in the 1st round. Morocco received ‘Bye’ from the opponent team. Hence they qualified for the second round. The matches in the second round were played from 7th to 9th April. Morocco played the matches against Ukraine at Casablanca, Morocco. Ukraine’s Andrei Medvedev defeated Morocco’s Hicham Arazi by 6-4, 1-6, 6-2, 3-6 and 7-5. Morocco’s Younes El Aynaoui defeated Ukraine’s Andrei Dernovskiy by 6-2, 6-2 and 6-3.
