The First round matches were held from the 4th of February to the 6th of February. The first set of matches at the Davis Cup that Germany played was against Netherlands. These games were held in the Messe Hall, Leipzig, Germany. Germany’s players put their best and gave a tough fight to the players from Netherlands. Out of the total 5 matches that Germany played against Netherlands, 4 were won by the Germany’s players while only 1 was won by Netherlands players. Thus, Germany successfully advanced to the Quarterfinal matches of the tournament which were held from 7th to the 9rth April at Memorial drive, North Adelaide, Adelaide. In this round Australia defeated Germany in 3 events out of total 5, so Germany was unlucky this time.
