Davis Cup is the premier international event that is held in the sport of tennis. This tournament is held only for Mens. Davis Cup was formerly known as the International Lawn Tennis Challenge. It was after the death of Dwight F. Davis in the year 1945 that this tournament was renamed in his honor. He played a major role in the development of the game amongst the four tennis players of the Harvard University. The International Tennis Federation governs this tournament.
