Started as a tennis showdown it gradually spread to other parts of the world. Therefore nations from all over the world started taking part in this tournament increasingly. It thus gradually became the premier international tennis tournament that is held for mens. This tournament is also regarded as the largest annual international event that is held in the sport of tennis. This tournament also follows a knock out policy like the other Grand Slam tournaments but the format of the game in which it is played is completely different.
