Introduction
Davis Cup is said to be the most important international team event in the men’s tennis. It is also one of the largest annual international team competitions in sport. This Davis Cup is run by the International Tennis Federation (ITF). In the year 1899 four members of the Harvard University came up with an idea to challenge British for the tennis match. The Lawn Tennis Association approved this idea and therefore Dwight Davis went on to design a tournament format. The first tennis match was played in the year 1900 between United States and Great Britain as a challenge. This tournament was named as the International Lawn Tennis Challenge later on it was changed to Davis Cup in the year 1945 as the remembrance of Dwight Davis. United States and Australia are the two teams who have dominated this competition for about 31 and 28 respectively. The 1992 Davis Cup was the 81st edition of the most important event in the men’s tennis and there were 92 teams taking part in this competition. For the first time the zones were divided into three groups, group1, group2 and group3. Qatar at the 1992 Davis Cup was making its debut in the Asia/Oceania zone.

The next match against Bahrain, again Qatar got defeated by the same score. In the fifth match of the competition Qatar played against Iran, in this match Qatar got defeated by two games to one. Then in the last match Qatar played against Lebanon and the result was the same, Qatar got defeated from Lebanon. That was it for Qatar, as they won two of their six matches being plated by them.
