Zimbabwe at the 1990 Davis Cup

The 79th edition of the Davis cup tournament Tennis was the 1990 Davis Cup. This was the most important tournament in men’s tennis at the national level. Altogether, 84 nations took part in the tournament. Zimbabwe at the 1990 Davis Cup played at the zonal level. Zimbabwe took part in the Davis cup tournament Tennis in 1963 as Rhodesia. The matches were arranged on 22 July 1990. The host was Morocco and the surface was clay outdoor. Zimbabwe was defeated by Morocco by a score of 1-4.

Zimbabwe at the 1990 Davis Cup displayed a performance that can be classified as an average one. In the quarter final, it played excellently against Zambia and won four out of the five matches. In the semi final, it played still better and managed a clean sweep of all the five matches against Cote d’lvoire. Eventually, it was defeated by Morocco in the final.
