Introduction
Davis Cup is the premier international tennis event that is held annually only for Mens. It is also regarded as the largest international event that is held in the sport of tennis. This event actually started as a challenge between United States and Great Britain. The idea of this tennis showdown was conceived in the year 1899 by four tennis players of the Harvard University. However the match took place in the year 1900 and thus this year is regarded as the beginning of the Davis Cup. Formerly known as the International Lawn Tennis Challenge this tournament was renamed in the year 1945 in honor of Dwight F. Davis who played a major role in the development of this tournament. The 1962 Davis Cup was the 51st edition of the most important tournament for the Mens. The finals were held at the Milton Courts in Brisbane which is situated in Australia.
