Disciplines of shooting
There are mainly four disciplines of shooting. They are:
- Rifle shooting
- Pistol shooting
- Shotgun shooting
- Running target shooting
Rifle shooting: As the name suggests, rifle shooting is done by rifle. In rifle shooting, shooters aim at a 10 rings target and they are awarded different points according to the rings they hit. Maximum points are given for hitting bullseye.
Pistol shooting: In this shooting event, a shooter fires with a pistol at a 10 rings target. Pistol shooters have to fire with standing position. Shooters are supposed to shoot with just one hand, with out giving any support to their wrists.
Shotgun shooting: In shotgun shooting events, which is divided into trap shooting, double shooting, and skeet event. In this shooting event, a shooter has to hit a clay targets that are released into the air after the shooters say he is ready.
Running targets: In this shooting events, a shooter has to take aim at moving targets that are adjusted to move fast and slow. In this event, shooters have to shoot from 50m and 10m distances. Shooters are not supposed to take support and have to shoot in a standing position.
