Introduction
Montserratt is a green, mountainous island in the Caribbean Sea, located in the Leeward Islands of the Lesser Antilles. It is approximately 16 km long, 11 km wide, and has 40 km of coastline. The total land area is 102 square kilometers with a population of about 4,500. Montserratt is often referred to as The Emerald Island of The Caribbean. It is a British Dependency territory and its capital and largest city is Plymouth (population 2000). The official language is English. Its currency is East Caribbean Dollar. Montserratt is divided into three parishes namely, Saint Anthony Parish, Saint George’s Parish, and Saint Peter Parish.
Montserratt is located approximately 480 km southeast of Puerto Rico, and 48 km southwest of Antigua. Montserratt boasts of its extraordinary scenic beauty and perfect climate. The Soufriere Hills or Montserratt volcano is an active complex stratovolcano. It became active in 1995, and eruptions have continued since then.

Scuba divers in Montserratt can find a full-service dive shop. Also, on the Southern shore of Little Bay, water sport rental facility is available. There is Oriole walkway Trail, a hiking trail. One can find rendezvous beach in Montserrat. There are other trails also available such as Blackwood Allen trail, Cot Trail, Runaway Ghaut Trail, Duberry-Cassava Trail, and rendezvous Circle Trail.
