Trelawney lies in the Cornwall county of Jamaica and is a parish located in the northwest part of the Island. The capital of the county is Falmouth. The county of Trelawney is bordered by St. Ann in the eastern side, St. James in the west and parts of St. Elizabeth and Manchester in the south. In the 17th century the planters of the St. James and St. Ann succeeded in having the parish of Trelawney as a part of the extension program of their plantations.
