Port of Spain, West Indies is the capital of Trinidad and Tobago and the country’s fourth largest town by population. It is located on the Gulf of Paria on the northwest coast of the island of Trinidad. The city is mainly a retail and administrative center. The city is situated at 10 degrees 40 minutes North and 61 degrees 31 minutes West. It is also a financial center and has one of the largest banks in the English speaking Caribbean.

The Queen’s Park Oval in the Port of Spain, West Indies is a major sporting venue for cricket and cycling. This is the largest cricket ground in the West Indies. It has hosted more test matches while compared to other grounds in the Caribbean. It has a seating capacity of 30,000 and is privately owned by the Queens Park Cricket Club. The ground is considered the most picturesque of the old grounds in the country. The earliest known match is in 1897 and was between the West Indies and England.

The Group B matches of the 2007 World Cup are scheduled in the Port of Spain, West Indies. The first match is on March 15th between Sri Lanka and Bermuda. The second match is on March 17th between India and Bangladesh. The third match is on March 19th between India and Bermuda. The fourth match is on March 21st between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. The fifth match is on March 23rd between India and Sri Lanka. The sixth match is on March 25th between Bermuda and Bangladesh. Some of the dramatic performances were as follows – England was all out for 46 in 1994-95. In 1967-68 Garry Sobers generous declaration helped England to win by 7 wickets. In 1976-77, India scored a record 406 for 4 and beat Clive Lloyd’s side.
