Since then the Oval has witnessed some of the most thrilling cricketing contests in the history of the game. Since 1895 till date, a total of 43 Test matches have been played at the Oval Stadium in Bridgetown. The city of Bridgetown has been the birthplace for some of the greatest cricketing legends in the history of the game. They prominently include Clyde Walcott and Malcolm Marshall, who have achieved great glory for the West Indies.
