Introduction
The World Cup of Cricket 2007 is being played in the West Indies. Netherlands is one of the participating nations in the Cup. In all 16 nations are contesting for the World Cup. Total 51 matches are going to be played in the tournament. The Cricket playing nations are divided in four groups of four teams. The top teams from each group will form super 8 format. Netherlands is in the group A with Australia, South Africa, and Scotland.
World cup achievements
Netherlands does not have a long tradition of playing international cricket. It has One Day International team status. So far Netherlands has competed in the 1996 and 2003 World Cup. They had very limited success. The 2003 world cup was memorable for Netherlands as they posted first ever One Day International win over Namibia.
Netherlands has played their first warm up match on 6th March 2007 in Trelawny Stadium in Jamaica and second match against Kenya.

Top players:
Though Netherlands does not have much history of playing international cricket the nation has produced many out standing players. Roland Lefebvre is the all-rounder; Luuk van Troost and Ryan ten Doeschate are the players worth the mention. Luuk van Troost is the captain of the team and Peter Cantrell is the coach of the team.
Daan van Bunge is an all rounder who opens the innings for Netherlands and he is very useful with the ball. He bowls leg spin. He has played in the Under 15 World Cup. Bastiaan Zuiderent is one of the best batsman in the Netherlans’team. He has played for the Sussex and considered as the most reliable batsman.
